Lactation Consultation

First Days Home - In-Home Postpartum Lactation Support

The early days after birth bring rapid changes, and sometimes questions or feeding challenges emerge after you leave the hospital. Whether feeding is going smoothly, you’re feeling uncertain, or you’re already working through difficulties, an in-home consultation offers individualized assessment in your own environment.

Whenever possible and appropriate, I’ll observe a feeding, assess your baby’s feeding behavior and milk transfer, address your questions and concerns, and identify anything else that may warrant attention. Together, we’ll discuss practical recommendations and next steps based on your individual assessment

Where: Your home or virtual.
When: Ideally scheduled around 3-5 days after birth.

Duration: Approximately 2 hours.
Cost: $450 per in-home consultation.
Notes: Includes one brief follow-up check-in. Prenatal reservations are welcome. Because babies arrive on their own timelines, the actual visit date is arranged after birth and depends on timing and availability. Post-birth inquiries are also welcome, subject to availability. Serving Lewis County and surrounding communities.

Initial In-Office or Virtual Lactation Consultation

Whether you have questions about feeding, are experiencing challenges, or want a better understanding of how feeding is progressing, an initial consultation provides dedicated time to assess your concerns and develop an individualized plan for you and your baby.

We’ll review your feeding history, discuss your questions, and assess feeding as appropriate to the setting. In-office appointments may include observation of a feeding and assessment of latch, positioning, feeding behavior, and milk transfer. Virtual consultations allow us to discuss concerns, observe feeding when feasible, and identify practical next steps, although some concerns require an in-person assessment.

Recommendations are guided by your individual circumstances, your baby’s needs, and your feeding goals.

Where: Downtown Chehalis or Virtual.
When: By appointment only; no drop-ins at this time.

Duration: 60 minutes.
Cost: $250 per consultation.
Notes:
Includes one brief follow-up message within 72 hours to clarify recommendations or address a quick question related to the consultation. Additional assessment, troubleshooting, or ongoing support can be arranged separately.
